Elisir d'amore

Elisir d'amore - Festival Como Città della Musica 2022

Manuel Renga's spirited show harks back to the multifaceted, bittersweet world of silent films by Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, and the five Marx Brothers. (...) The result is, thus, an exuberant and brilliant, engaging and hilarious show, from which the most cheerful and laugh-out-loud sentiments shine through, but also the most melancholy and languorous ones, supported by the incisive and careful acting of the soloists and the agile movement of the choral masses.
It was a great popular feast of music, theater and entertainment, greeted with warm and heartfelt applause by the large audience.

Don Pasquale.jpg

Don Pasquale - CSA Music Festival 2021

Director Manuel Renga transports the production to 1920s New York at the height of Prohibition. Very successful transposition both for the adaptation of the characters' characters, who are never distorted but rather updated to the vision they are intended to propose, and for the truly enjoyable visual realization.

Falstaff - Festival Verdi 2023

A show of rare lightness, of a fine but enthralling comedy.
Manuel Renga's direction is gushing with ideas, in perpetual, meandering motion, enriched by a few guessed counterscenes, which in a French pochade-like climax delivers to an amused and satisfied audience an airy, fluid, hilarious show. Needless to add that the applause was long and generous.

Rigoletto - Festival Verdi 2022

Corresponding to this beautiful and successful musical operation is the equally careful direction by Manuel Renga, who manages to always place the protagonists of the drama at the center and a stage with few elements (by Aurelio Colombo) but not for this reason ineffective. A show that relies on many creative insights and the ability to fully exploit all the space of the hall, with the proscenium boxes and the stalls themselves incorporated into the performance thus creates a Rigoletto connoted by an intimate and visceral dimension that involves the audience present.
